Overview

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our AECOM Transportation Department in either our Arlington or Glen Allen, VA office. AECOM is searching for candidates that can be creative and impactful on a wide range of transportation projects. Entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM's Graduate Development Program (GDP), a program designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

Responsibilities

• As an Entry-Level Structural Engineer, you will work with multi-discipline project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concepts to detailed design development and through construction.
• This is a diverse role that will involve your contributions and insight into the effective delivery of the department's current and future portfolio of projects.
• Design of new bridges
• Design for bridge rehabilitation projects
• Development of bridge maintenance and repair plans
• Performing load ratings for bridges
• Design of transit structures
• Bridge and tunnel inspection and evaluation
• Various tunnel engineering support services
• Preparation of construction plans and specifications
• Preparation of cost estimates and schedules
