Field Operations Manager (Commercial Door Systems)

About the Role
We are seeking a Field Operations Manager to lead and optimize field service and installation operations in the Charleston area for a manufacturer of door systems. This role focuses on driving operational efficiency, safety, inventory control, and workforce development while partnering closely with sales and office teams to meet growth and performance targets. Must have commercial overhead door industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise and coach technicians, customer service representatives, and subcontractors in the Charleston region
- Oversee daily field operations to improve efficiency and service delivery
- Enforce company operational procedures for field and support staff
- Set location expectations and manage relationships with support, administrative, and field teams
- Monitor operational performance and implement adjustments to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual goals
- Lead health and safety programs and initiatives
- Manage warehouse activities with an emphasis on inventory controls
- Drive service growth initiatives including demand service, planned maintenance contracts, and service quoting
- Collaborate with Sales to determine labor needs and ensure project margins
- Review forecasts and projections regularly
- Represent the organization in customer meetings
- Develop operational leaders, technicians, and administrative staff to build a motivated, professional workforce
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of direct management experience in installation and service operationsCommercial door systems ( specifically with high speed sectional doors) experience is requiredProven track record as an effective people leaderExperience driving service growth, field efficiencies, training programs, inventory control, collections, and technician staffingFamiliarity with general construction practices, contract documentation, and customer interactionsAbility to work a flexible schedule including variable hours and occasional weekendsExperience establishing monthly forecasts and tracking resultsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsValid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites and customer meetingsAbility to travel regularly within the Charleston area and to nearby regions as neededPhysical ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and inspect job sitesSafety certifications preferred (OSHA, first aid / CPR, or equivalent)Willingness to undergo background and driving record checks as required by the company
