About Us :

In 1989, Mitinet was the first company to put the MARC in a PC and develop the first ever PC-based MARC cataloging tools! These tools were to assist school and public libraries with creating electronic records and manage their automated library software database, when library automation was new.

Today, over 30 years later and a multi-year Platinum Award winner, we continue to work with libraries and catalogers worldwide, providing cataloging solutions that assist them with the most diverse cataloging needs of today.

Using our cloud-based tools and data management resources, our customers are able to easily manage and maintain high quality standards and up-to-date MARC metadata as well as automate cataloging processes.

About the Position :

We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as a part-time or full-time Business Development Representative to sell our award-winning metadata management software and database services to the school and public library market.

This is an inside sales position that focuses on new customer development within an appointed sales territory. Experience in cataloging or metadata management is a plus but not required.

Full paid training is provided. The position and responsibilities also include :

  • Work with the Sales Manager to implement effective sales strategies to drive new sales within the assigned territory
  • Identify prospects and make effective qualifying sales calls to expand new business
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our products and services to effectively present to customers
  • Attend trade shows

About You :

A driven and self-motivated individual that possesses excellent communication skills and a strong ability to relate to librarians, catalogers, district admin among other school and library personnel.

Possesses sales experience by using the phone, email, and web-based communication platforms (Zoom) to promote and sell services and products, as well as :

  • Proven sales track record in new account acquisition and retention
  • Exceptional speaking and active listening skills
  • Ability to prospect and cold call
  • Possesses basic computer skills (Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Experience CRM is a plus
  • High School Diploma / GED equivalent required. College degree or some college level class work preferred

About the Compensation and Benefits :

  • Full-Time Position
  • Hourly Rate - $15.00 per hour plus commission
