Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our client's growing project team. This role will report directly to the Capital Regional Engineering Manager and will support mining and minerals operations across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. This is a long term position.
The Construction Manager will lead construction execution for capital projects, with direct responsibility for safety, cost, productivity, schedule, and quality. Serving as the construction lead and acting as the Owner's Representative, this role is key to ensuring successful delivery of the construction phase and provides a competitive advantage in project execution.
Key Responsibilities Include :
Pre-Construction and Planning :
- Provide strategic and technical input during Front-End Loading and Detailed Design.
- Develop and manage Safety Plans and MI-QA Plans; validate execution.
- Participate in engineering / design reviews.
- Develop contracting strategies; qualify and manage contractor performance.
- Lead constructability reviews; identify cost-effective construction technologies.
- Contribute to schedule and budget development and validation.
- Guide material and equipment selection to align with business goals and cost targets, leveraging deep technical expertise.
- Lead construction planning and progress tracking; apply LEAN concepts to improve field productivity.
- Provide input on rigging and equipment requirements.
- Support commissioning and checkout planning and execution.
- Conduct site assessments and contribute to continuous improvement.
Field Execution :
Lead all field construction activities, ensuring safety and quality plans are audited and upheld.Plan and coordinate all phases of construction and installation; maintain integrated project schedules.Monitor contractor performance and coordinate Chemours and contractor resources.Ensure timely and accurate communication with project teams and leadership.Set goals, manage priorities, and take action to meet commitments.Maintain in-depth knowledge of project specifications, standards, scope, and methods.Ensure material and equipment availability to support schedule and productivity.Document installation changes.Support commissioning and start-up efforts.Minimum Qualifications :
8–10 years of industrial construction experience, ideally with progression from a craft role into a leadership position.Broad knowledge of capital project and support processes, with hands-on experience in at least one craft discipline (Civil / Structural, Process / Mechanical, or E&I).Proven ability to lead and manage large capital construction projects.Experience driving successful field execution through contractors.Skilled in detailed planning for contracted field work, including anticipating barriers and allocating resources accordingly.Ability to perform constructability reviews.Strong understanding of best practices in safety, sourcing / contracting, cost control, quality assurance, scheduling, project cycle time reduction, invoicing, value engineering, and front-end loading.Willingness to travel and work onsite in support of capital projects in Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida.Proficiency with Microsoft Office softwarePreferred Qualifications :
Proven ability to lead and motivate contractors and teams to deliver safely and on schedule.Strong collaboration skills to align diverse stakeholders around shared project objectives.Ability to review and validate cost estimates and use them to develop project plans and schedules.Familiarity with project change order procedures.Deep understanding of contracting and procurement processes.Experience with LEAN methodologies and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera); knowledge of critical path method scheduling.Knowledge of construction, site safety, and environmental compliance practices.Strong skills in networking, negotiation, planning, and construction technology applications.Other Requirements :
