ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Bakersfield, California.

Job Details :

  • Work 12-hour shifts starting at 7 : 00 AM or 7 : 00 PM
  • Every other weekend requirement with one weekend shift every two weeks
  • Float to other medical-surgical units as needed
  • Blend of charge nurse, clinical mentor, and manager responsibilities
  • Provide on-shift leadership to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
  • Round on patients and address service or safety concerns
  • Take charge nurse assignments based on census and staffing levels
  • Patient ratios : 1 : 5 for medical-surgical patients, 1 : 4 for chemo / telemetry patients
  • Work on 27-bed medical-surgical telemetry units including 7 private oncology suites
  • Care for general medical-surgical, GYN, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, spine, and joint patients
  • Handle pediatric patients over age 15
  • Must have strong central line experience and charge nurse experience from last assignment
  • No first-time travelers accepted
  • Manager interview required
  • 3 weeks of orientation : 1 week classroom, 2 weeks unit orientation
  • Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA or APEX)
  • Use Cerner EMR system with remote telemetry monitoring
  • Navy scrub color required
  • Must report within 30 minutes if placed on standby
  • Work 2 major holidays and 1 minor holiday
  • Must demonstrate compassionate care and enjoy teaching patients
