Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct interview-based exams with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Complete non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments efficiently and accurately.
• Submit detailed reports and addendums in a timely manner to support veterans’ claims.
• Adhere to established protocols, focusing on assessment and documentation without prescribing or providing treatment.

Required Skills:

• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in North Carolina.
• Proven experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery.
• Strong assessment and diagnostic skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interviewing veterans.
• Ability to work independently within your own professional office setting.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with veterans’ healthcare or compensation and pension evaluations.
• Familiarity with medical documentation and report writing.
• Flexibility to perform exams at multiple locations as needed.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical practice in general medicine or related fields.
• Some familiarity with military or veteran healthcare systems is advantageous.

Other Requirements:

• Own a private office location within the specified radius of each assignment site.
• Must be available on a PRN basis, with flexibility for half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts.
• No travel reimbursement beyond rates, no certification or portal training reimbursement.
• Adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations relevant to nursing practice.
