The Medical Assistant will focus on providing comprehensive assistance for the Preventive Cardiology Clinic (PCC).

This is a full-time position working M-F from 7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm out of our Oakdale clinic (may have some training in Edina).

A $1,000.00 sign-on bonus will be offered and paid out in two increments; $500.00 to be paid out on the pay period after completing 3 months and $500.

00 to be paid out on the pay period after completing 6 months. Internal applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.

Preventive Cardiology Clinic (PCC) is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions :

  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit.
  • Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart.
  • Monitor stress testing under appropriate supervision
  • Holter monitor placement
  • Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.
  • Give instructions or results to patients as instructed by physician or nurse practitioner either in person or by phone / email / portal
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
  • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).
  • Assist with prior authorizations
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements :

  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program
  • 1+ years' experience of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic setting.

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
  • Work in the clinic during business hours
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Travel to other work locations, if required
