St. Francis Center (SFC), an Episcopal Diocese of Colorado institution, was established in June 1983. SFC is a refuge for people who are experiencing homelessness in the metro Denver area. Our programs and services are tailored toward adults and focus on daytime shelter, social services, health and wellness, housing, employment, and outreach. At SFC, “guests” can work with a variety of specialists, depending on their individual needs, which is often the first step toward transformation and ultimately self-sufficiency.
We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant. This is a Full-Time, non-exempt position eligible for an excellent benefit package as outlined below.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial functions including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, preparation of invoices, grant and contract budgets, and expenditure reports, and maintaining all accounting records and files. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The department has a part-time bookkeeper who supports the accounts payable function and a part-time bookkeeper who supports the fundraising data entry function.

Experience working in a social service environment and familiarity with non-profit bookkeeping and best practices is preferred and considered a plus; Ability to build and maintain good professional relationships with leadership, staff and government agencies (local, state and federal) is a plus. Excellent written, oral, and organizational skills. Flexible and creative self-starter who can work both independently and within a team. Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituents. Detail-oriented and thoughtful attention to messaging and language.
Salary range : Annual salary of $80,000-85,000, commensurate with education and experience.
