Sinclair Broadcast Group is hiring : Newscast Producer in Portland

Job Description

KATU / KUNP has an immediate opening for a creative Newscast Producer. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. You will work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and Anchors to shape the content and flow of the newscasts. Additionally, you will generate and write stories, develop content for our website, and collaborate with management and on-air staff.

The ideal candidate will have :

• Solid news judgment
• Compelling and accurate writing skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily broadcasts
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with non-linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems like iNews
