Job Responsibilities

Operates general office equipment.Maintains, scans, and stores building records in accordance with state records retention guidelines.Reviews and inputs various applications, forms, and affidavits into the software program.Handles various financial transactions such as permit fees, reinspection fees, re-review fees, computer member fees, and miscellaneous items.Acts as Liaison between customers, plan reviewers, investigators, and inspectors.Assist customers with online licensing renewal process.Assist contractors with registration of online e-permitting portal.Assist in entry of complaints, via residents or contractors, related to building code and state or local licensing violations.Assist property owners on the process to obtain compliance with violations on their property.Process renewal transactions and update contractor information, including insurance, licenses, and contact information.May address or route questions or concerns from 1PSL service request.Other duties as may be assigned.1PSL CALL TAKER RESPONSIBILITIES
Handles 1PSL customer concerns / complaints and requests for service or reroutes to appropriate personnel for resolution.Creates, responds, distributes, monitors, and resolves customer service-related matters through the utilization of customer service and work order programs such as 1PSL and other data systems.II

Operates general office equipment.Maintains, scans, and stores building records in accordance with state records retention guidelines.Issues Certificates of Occupancy after verification that all inspections have been performed and that all required documentation has been received.Reviews and inputs various applications, forms, and affidavits into designated software.Handles various financial transactions such as application fees, reinspection fees, re-review fees, and miscellaneous items.Receives and reviews 1PSL complaints and respond or assign accordingly.Receives and processes complaints via residents or contractors related to building code and state or local licensing violations.Assists contractors with online registrations and processes.Assists with the Contractors Board of Appeals and Special Magistrate, as needed.Acts as Liaison between customers, plan reviewers, investigators, and inspectors.Other duties as may be assigned.III

May provide supervision in managers or supervisors absence.Maintains and updates databases for expired permits, compliance, and other complaint driven duties.May receive and review 1PSL complaints and respond or assign accordingly.Receives and processes complaints via residents or contractors related to building code and state or local licensing violations.Assists contractors with online registrations and processes.Other duties as may be assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May oversee the work of non-supervisory employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the City's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma required. Two (2) years' experience in responsible office work required. Construction related work preferred. Possession of valid Florida driver's license and maintenance of clean driving record required.II

Certification as a Permit Technician through International Code Council required to be obtained within 12 months from date of hire.III
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma required. Three (3) years experience in responsible office work and two (2) years of experience working with residential and commercial applications and other regulatory agencies required. Minimum of two (2) years as a Permit Specialist II with satisfactory performance required. Demonstration of leadership qualities, such as above average communication skills and ability to work well with others, required. Possession of valid Florida Driver's License and maintenance of a clean driving record required.Physical Requirements
