Planet Gymnastics is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and energetic coach to join our competitive USAG Xcel Team Program.
The Xcel Team Coach will be responsible for developing athletes in a safe, positive, and motivating environment while helping them reach their full potential in gymnastics.
This position includes coaching practices, attending competitions, and collaborating with the team staff to ensure the program's success. Key Responsibilities :
- Coaching & Instruction Plan and lead engaging practices for gymnasts int he Xcel program (Bronze through Diamond levels) Provide technical instruction in all four events (Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor) with proper progressions. Adapt training to the individual needs of each athlete while promoting skill development and confidence. Competition Preparation Prepare gymnasts for competitions, including routines, conditioning, and mental readiness. Attend all assigned competitions, supporting athletes and ensuring a positive meet experience. Safety & Professionalism Maintain a safe and supportive training environment that follows USAG safety guidelines. Address and correct improper techniques to prevent injuries. Team Culture & Communication Promote a positive, team-focused atmosphere built on respect, hard work, and sportsmanship. Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and fellow staff members. Collaborate with other coaches to maintain consistency in coaching philosophy and team goals. Qualifications : Previous gymnastics coaching experience (Xcel or JO / DP preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of gymnastics progressions and spotting techniques.
- USAG Professional or Recreational Membership (or ability to obtain prior to start).
Current CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for competitions. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a passion for working with athletes of various abilities. Preferred Skills :
Experience choreographing floor and beam routines. Knowledge of USAG Xcel rules and requirements. Background in athlete motivation, goal setting, and positive reinforcement strategies. Work Schedule : Part-time Must be available for regular practice schedule Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 5 : 45 pm to 9 : 15 pm and weekend competitions during the season.
