Sales Manager – Hot Rolled Sheet & Plate | Path to VP of Sales
We’re seeking a driven and experienced Sales Manager to lead our Hot Rolled Sheet & Plate sales operations based in Houston, TX . This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing metals company where you can shape the sales department , influence company direction, and grow into a VP of Sales role.
As Sales Manager, you’ll take ownership of sales strategy and execution—building relationships, identifying opportunities, and driving profitable growth. You’ll collaborate with executive leadership to expand market share, establish best practices, and set the foundation for future team growth.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue and profitability in the hot rolled sheet & plate market.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Identify new business opportunities, manage key accounts, and close high-value deals.
Monitor performance metrics, analyze market trends, and adjust strategies as needed.
Work closely with leadership to shape the company’s long-term sales vision.
Mentor and help develop future sales staff as the department grows.
Qualifications :
5+ years of experience in steel sales management , preferably hot rolled sheet & plate.
Proven success in account management and business development within the metals industry.
Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
Ability to create and execute strategies that balance growth and profitability.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building teams and driving results.
Compensation & Benefits :
$130,000 – $150,000 base salary (DOE)
Profitability-based bonus
