Raytheon is seeking a Requirements and Capabilities (R&C) Associate Director that will be responsible for supporting Future Operations for Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) business opportunities. The Associate Director will be responsible for identifying and understanding market needs for growth, working with existing customers and establishing new customers, developing strategies and deploying tactics to execute and meet the Land and Air Defense System's (LADS) Long-Range Plan.
This Associate Director provides critical support to R&C US Domestic Requirements Lead for LADS by ensuring a cohesive and harmonized customer message campaign. This role is intended to provide direct support to LADS senior leadership across all major Sub-Strategic Business Units (SSBUs) and Strategic Captures. Future Operations' purpose is to provide qualitative improvements by synthesizing strategic messages for speaking engagements, talking points, white papers and externally / customer-facing content as well as providing target research to answer critical information requirements; to include executive support for key leader engagement preparation, scheduling and planning. Typical duties would include preparation, management and dissemination of planned engagements, as well as deriving potential positions, asks and offers, Toplines, Redlines and Talking Points. While serving as a crucible of thought, Future Operations will also lead the R&C effort to standardize and harmonize the entire LADS customer data collection. Additional management duties include - provide effective task management to increase timely response, efficient knowledge management to facilitate dissemination as well as increasing standardized, repeatable workflows. Lastly, Future operations will provide oversight to consultant management for continuity of tasked actions and information management.
What You Will Do
Serve as the Land & Air Defense Systems lead for customer messaging providing a focal point for the R&C, SSBUs and Strategic Captures to ensure alignment with external messaging, capability requirements and increase capture success
Lead white paper development, talking point development, and customer-facing information content. Must continuously listen to the customer, collaborating with business units associates to offer discriminators, solutions and strategies that address the most important requirements and priorities, providing integrated solutions to improve system-of-system capabilities and mission performance.
Spearhead the preparation of senior leadership engagements by deriving potential customer positions, asks and offers, toplines, redlines and refined talking points.
Ensure consistent messaging and themes across the SBU. Strategizes across LADS SSBUs while communicating with the customer to meet the customers' mission needs and gaps.
Provide targeted research to formulate a better understanding of the customer challenges and potential positions, for example Policy changes, organizational changes and potential USG portfolio risks.
Develop concepts and manage sensitive projects that require close coordination with senior leaders and multiple staff and overall provide a deeper cycle preparation for our senior leaders.
Serves as the focal point for R&C task management, knowledge management, concept development and consultant task management. Contributes strong knowledge on Army and Joint Requirements and Force Modernization processes to facilitate Raytheon efforts.
Act as R&C lead for cross-SBU integrated assessments, market assessments and competitive assessments.
Support the LADS R&C team to identify, and develop new business opportunities, and position new business resources to achieve LADS growth objectives.
Support development and marketing strategies to achieve business goals aligned with customer plans and programs.
Focus on the customer, understand strategic environment, threat capabilities, problems, priorities, limitations, and requirements. Understand how the customer perceives Precision Fires and Maneuver, Short to Medium Range Air Defense and Ground Based Air Defense.
Develop and implement internal and external customer contact plans.
Collaborate with RTX Global Government Relations (GGR) at Federal, State, and Local levels on Public Policy to advocate and develop new technologies and solutions.
Approximately 50% annual domestic and international travel for customer engagements and tradeshows.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years' experience working with Department of Defense, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 10 years' experience.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in business development or program management with Army and / or Air Force acquisition.
Former US Military Officer with experience supporting Pentagon and / or Legislative Affairs.
Experience with US Military requirements development process.
