The Opportunity :

Reporting to the Sr Manager, Project Engineering, the Sr Engineer, Project Engineering manages and completes numerous projects that span multiple engineering disciplines. This position manages and supports the implementation of capital projects within the mill as well as supporting the mill reliability and improvement efforts. The position requires strong project management and technical skills to coordinate different disciplines within the Engineering department, Operations, Maintenance, consulting engineers, and vendors. Primarily, the prospective candidate should have the ability to manage several projects that span multiple engineering disciplines. We will consider candidates with a minimum of 2 years in paper or similar industry and will provide development to prepare the candidate to move into roles of greater responsibility within the Engineering department . This position is located onsite at the Evadale, TX paper mill.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock :

• Oversee end-to-end execution of capital and expense repair projects, from initial concept through equipment installation and operational launch.
• Key responsibilities include crafting comprehensive project plans that integrate safety protocols, environmental considerations, scope definition, budget control, on-site implementation, and post-installation performance evaluation.
• Provide engineering expertise to Operations and Maintenance departments to help resolve various operating problems
• The ability to lead project teams, provide guidance, assign tasks, and effectively communicate with management, clients, and contractors.
• Manage the direction of consultants, contractors, and maintenance work associated with assigned capital and repair projects.
• Responsible for conducting business with integrity and respect, being accountable, and actively pursuing excellence to help achieve Smurfit Westrocks goals and objectives.
