Job Description and Duties
Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.
The 21-A District Agricultural Association (DAA) / Madera District Fair is recruiting to fill four (4) Maintenance Aide (Seasonal) positions located in Madera County.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Manager I or Secretary-Manager III (CEO), the incumbent will work with the maintenance crew to perform general maintenance duties and the upkeep of all buildings, grounds, animal stalls and arenas throughout the year for fair time activities and interim rental usage.
The incumbent will work as a member of a team on maintenance projects. Duties include but are not limited to :
- Assist with the set up of halls for renters / interim events.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and buildings, and keeps equipment clean and orderly for the renters.
- Keep keys to fairground entrance gates and facility doors and gates; open grounds, buildings, arenas, or stadiums as instructed.
- Adjust ventilation, heat, air conditioning and lighting as needed.
- Maintain grounds operating a Tractor, Forklift, Water Truck, and Man lift to complete tasks.
- Maintain fairgrounds landscape by mowing lawns, trimming bushes or trees for the facility.
- Assist the Senior Maintenance Worker, Maintenance Worder and Fairground Aide in fixing broken pipes, toilets, fences, chairs, tables and painting.
- Travel to pick up required supplies, and fill up vehicles with gas at local gas stations, as needed.

Working Conditions
The majority of the duties will be performed outdoors in all types of environments. The employee will be using the following tools;
lawn mower, rake, shovel, pickers, fork lift, water truck, broom, mop, moving dolly, blower, power and hand tools, golf trucks, tractor with scraper and mower, gasoline pick up truck, dump truck, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, electric chain saw, pruner, hand saws, pitch fork, hose, scoop shovels, hand picker, dust pans, skill saws, power drills, welder (if qualified), and a table saw.
