Recreation Therapist III

• Recreation Therapist III About the Position : The incumbent in this position is responsible for the planning and supervision of various types of recreational activities;
• establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; communicating effectively, both orally and in writing; exercising initiative and independent judgment;

and working with mentally ill clients. Typical job functions include but are not limited to : Planning and implementing therapeutic recreational programs and activities for an assigned caseload of patients.

Conducting interviews, tests and other procedures to evaluate the patient’s needs, attitudes, interests and abilities. Developing a therapeutic intervention plan based on observations, tests and other information, evaluating patient’s participation in program activities and progress towards established goals and objectives and documenting response to various treatments and activities.

Performing supervisory duties on a limited basis Job Type / Salary : 06 / 14 / 2024 or until filled. This is a full-time, shift position.

Shifts are 8 hours in durat ion. Annual Salary is $38,500.00 / $18.51hr Scheduled days : Monday - Friday 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.

m. (full time) - some weekends required. The FLSA Status is Non-Exempt for this Position. The EEO Category is Professional.

• Minimum Qualifications and Experience : Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy, outdoor recreation, physical education or a closely related field;
• or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements : Upon appointment, incumbents designated by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services shall complete certification in one of the following required Departmental sponsored training in case management : Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager Adult;

Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager Child, Adolescent and Family; or Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager Dual Certification.

Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

Griffin Memorial Hospital is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and provides in-patient hospital care for those in need of mental health & substance abuse services.
