Position Summary : To operate industrial forklift truck to perform material handling assignments including picking orders, putting away product to assigned locations, packing orders, packaging bulk product into individuals to make available for sale.

Position Responsibilities :

Obtains copy of production schedule or shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility.

Identifies many types of raw material, in process or finished product, equipment, or processing materials. Checks identification of materials to be moved, cross-references with production schedule or shipping schedule, and moves to required location.

Reports inconsistencies or problems to supervisor.

Picks orders utilizing our warehouse management system. Validating the parts and qtys are correct.

Pack pulled orders to prepare them for shipments. Stacking and strapping then utilizing automatic banding equipment.

Pack bulk product to make available as single for sale to customers.

Minor assembly of various kits as instructed by area coordinator.

Keeps tally or count of product moved and reports to production supervisor.

Uses safety cut tools to open boxes, containers, removes strapping and wrapping and disposes of safely in designated containers or areas.

Places protective materials around loads when necessary and uses hand or automatic strapping equipment to secure loads for in-plant handling, interim storage, or final shipment to customers.

Opens trailers, checks for sturdiness, cleanliness and obstructions. Places and removes dock plates at trailer. Adjusts dock plates to truck floor surface at shipping dock.

Removes empty skids and stacks skids in designated area.

Perform daily safety inspection of equipment.

May also use other similar powered vehicles.

Assists, as available, for other departments, including line support and material handling

May handle and dump scrap or trash into compactor or baler.

May work in other departments based on business needs.

Position Qualifications :

Frequently standing on a powered industrial truck.

High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others.

Ability to move or lift up 29lbs unassisted.

Satisfactorily pass in-company forklift driver training program or demonstrates in a "road test" safe handling of a forklift truck based on training and experience elsewhere.

Requirements :

Must have high school diploma or GED.

Employees must be able to read numbers, perform basic mathematical calculations and comprehend basic safety instructions.

Must be able to work overtime as business needs requires.

Preferred :

Minimum of 1-year experience on a stand-up forklift.
