Job Summary :
The Patient Access Representative II is responsible for securing and providing information to patients, families, and funding sources to register, schedule, and / or obtain authorizations for inpatient, outpatient, and / or diagnostic services. This role requires excellent customer service skills, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to perform data entry efficiently.

Responsibilities :
- Secure and provide information to patients, families, and funding sources for registration, scheduling, and authorizations.
- Demonstrate customer service skills to develop rapport with diverse customers.
- Perform data entry functions to maintain productivity standards.
- Utilize knowledge of insurance verification, authorization, and eligibility requirements.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Perform selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinate equipment / supply needs. Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
- Perform any other related duties (e.g., clerical, technical duties) as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications :
Experience / general knowledge of managed care health plans.Knowledge of scheduling, registration, billing, and / or claims payment.Minimum of two years of work experience in a health care setting and / or one year work experience in a specific department function call center environment.High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.Preferred Skills & Certifications :
General knowledge of medical terminology.Knowledge of insurance verification authorization and eligibility requirements for health insurance carriers.Epic knowledge.Internet capability.Special Considerations :
