Emergency Veterinary Assistant, AER University Park

Animal ER of University Park located in Bradenton, FL is searching for experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our team!

Compensation :

$18 - $25 / hr, based on experience

Shift differentials available for overnight hours!

Anticipated Schedule :

Three 12-hour shifts per week

About the Job :

Assist with patient care, monitoring, treatments, restraint, and routine diagnostic tests (i.e. Taking radiographs, running bloodwork, reading fecals)

Maintain inventory and stocking

Maintain & sterilize surgical instruments and equipment

Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam rooms, and treatment areas of hospital

Administer medications under Veterinarian / Vet Tech supervision

Feed and bathe patients

Answer phones and help clients with their pets

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

Minimum of 2 years working in veterinary medicine. Prior Emergency experience is prioritized.

An understanding of all basic veterinary knowledge, including restraint.

Attention to detail, with strong communication skills with both clients and team members.

Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
