Responsibilities Work in a 16-bed oncology unit within a large academic Level 1 trauma center hospital Primary patient population includes hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant cases Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 3-4 with CNA support at a 1 : 7-8 ratio Utilizes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell dispensing, and Philips monitors Required to float within the cancer center first, then to other med-surg units if needed 12-hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM with every other weekend rotation Schedules are assigned in 6-week cycles and up to 7 days RTO may be granted if contract is extended Travelers will be scheduled to work 75% of holidays Responsibilities include managing oncology and bone marrow transplant patients, administering chemotherapy, and performing central line care Support staff includes CNAs, unit secretary, 24 / 7 respiratory therapy, and central telemetry monitoring Collaborate within a team-oriented, seasoned unit culture Royal blue scrubs required Free onsite parking is available Two days of departmental orientation plus facility orientation will be provided Requirements Active NC or compact RN license Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience required BLS, ACLS, and Chemo Certification are required ONS Chemotherapy Administration certification required ONC or BMTCN certification preferred Venipuncture, IV insertion, central line care and accessing, transfusion of blood products, and wound / skin care experience required Experience with Epic EMR preferred First-time travelers considered only with prior BMT experience Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-612245.
