As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for : Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient / family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.

Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.

Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.Day to Day duties : Will cross train between SDS and PACUPreparing patients regarding surgery.

Obtain labs, starting IV's, EKGS'sEnsuring consents are signed by appropriate MD.Educating family regarding post op expectations.

Recovery Phase II : Ensure patient is appropriate to discharge. Appropriate discharge orders including medication for discharge.

Vitals stable.Communication between MD, anesthesia and PACU regarding criteria for discharge.Nurse's are expected to do next day call backs to ensure patients is healing and answer any additional questions if needed.

Prep / Recovery nurse will have 2-3 patientsRNs in pre-op / PACU are responsible for pre op calls, PATs, transports in addition to the clinical aspects of pre-op and PACU care.

Phase I monitor airway, stabilize vitals, ensure pain is decreasingRNs will cover both pre-op and PACU areas with 3-4 total on each shift.

Staff is expected to float between Pre Op / PACUPACU nurses can take 1-2 patientsPrevious Pre Op / PACU experience preferred *PACU Bays- 15SDS Bays-35Schedule : 40hrs / week- Days- Variable shifts per surgical volume and current unit needs.

  • Call Required : 5-7 call shifts per 4 week schedule30 Min Call back radius required.Qualifications : In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following : Education RequirementsAssociates Degree in Nursing required;
  • Nursing Diploma or by endorsementBachelors Degree in Nursing preferredGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNsExperience RequirementsOne year experience preferredNursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialtyLicenses / Certification RequirementsRN License required;
