Human Resources Generalist (Atwater)

Overview

Responsible for a variety of disciplines within human resources : primary focus will be in employee / labor relations, and will also provide support with job description development and revision, onboarding, training, and development of new and existing employees and compliance processes.

This position will support the Director of Human Resources with employee relations - with ability to regularly travel between sites in Merced, Stanislaus, or San Joaquin Counties.

Schedule is Monday – Friday, working 8 : 00am – 5 : 00pm

Compensation : $75,774.40 - $79,563.12 Annually

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on organizational policies and procedures, including the collective bargaining agreement.
• Provide education, training and guidance to supervisory staff on all areas of human resources.
• Develop training and / or tools for supervisory staff.
• Actively provide support to the recruitment process, including the participation in interviews; and development of job descriptions and interviewing tools.
• Handle employee complaints, grievances, disputes and questions.
• Facilitate timely resolution of employee relations issues.
• Assist with compensation and classification.
• Develop and / or revise policies.
• Provide guidance and support to members of the human resources department.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Work Environment

The physical environment requires the employee to work indoors, primarily in an office setting. The noise level inside is quiet to average. Use of general office equipment is required on a daily basis. Travel may be required at times.
