Senior Accountant
The position of Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the accounting and financial reporting of the Company. This position works closely with the Financial Reporting Directors, Managers and other accounting staff to complete projects, prepare SEC and regulatory financial reporting schedules and will also perform various accounting duties including : preparation of journal entries, accruals, transaction analysis, accounting research and ad hoc projects. This position also ensures compliance with SOX, all policies and procedures and all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Prepare financial schedules and analysis that comprise SEC and regulatory reporting.
Prepare journal entry supporting documentation as part of the month-end, quarter-end and annual close process.
Provide support to all assigned areas in the Accounting Department where service or assistance is needed.
Interface with management, external auditors and regulatory agencies concerning accounting and SOX requirements.
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years or more related experience. Work related experience should consist of an accounting or finance background, preferably in the Financial Services industry.
CPA license preferred and a minimum of two (2) years public accounting experience, or Five+ (5+) years with progressively increased responsibility and supervisory experience at an SEC registrant, preferably in the financial services industry.
An intermediate knowledge of SEC and GAAP reporting requirements.
Experience with preparation of audited financial statements and SEC reporting.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent analytical and organization skills.
Ability to effectively interact with all levels within the Company.
Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
