American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Telemetry Observation Unit position requiring WV or compact licensure and previous travel experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 32-bed Telemetry Observation Unit within an acute care hospital settingPatient population consists of adults and geriatrics with respiratory and medical diagnoses, including trach care (not vented)Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 6Monitor Techs are available 24 / 7; RNs are responsible for reviewing telemetry strips each shiftCommon titratable drips managed include Heparin, Cardizem (up to 15mg / hr), Lasix, Dopamine (low dose), and AmiodaroneUses Epic EMR for documentationNight shifts are 12 hours (6 : 45 pm – 7 : 15 am) with every other weekend and rotating holiday requirementsFloating may be required to Med-Surg units or the Emergency Department for boarded patientsBlock scheduling is permitted if unit needs are metResponsibilities include assessment, monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, and providing trach careTeam includes 24 / 7 Charge RN, House Supervisor, and Nurse Aides with role support ratios adjusted by shiftFull day of nursing orientation and two 12-hour preceptor shifts provided before starting independentlyDress code requires solid navy scrubs with closed-toed shoes and limited logo wearBlock scheduling available by request and subject to unit needsHoliday coverage rotates with core staff and may consider individual preferences based on prior year schedulingApplicants must be willing to float as neededInitial Skills Checklist is due within 90 days of start date\n \n Requirements\n
Active WV or compact RN license requiredCurrent certifications in ACLS and BLS are requiredMinimum of 2 years Med-Surg / Telemetry experience, including critical drips and trach carePrevious travel RN experience is requiredExperience with peritoneal dialysis is preferredCharge RN responsibilities may be required for interested candidatesApplicants must not have worked at any WVU Medicine location in the past 2 years and may not exceed one year cumulative travel within WVU without a 2-year breakNo local travelers within a 50-mile radius\n Benefits\n
