Summary
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing payroll operations for a large and diverse workforce, ensuring accurate and timely processing for both union and non-union employees. This role requires deep knowledge of Arizona labor laws, federal regulations, and collective bargaining agreements. The supervisor will lead payroll staff, manage compliance, and collaborate across departments to maintain payroll integrity and resolve issues efficiently.

What It Takes To Succeed
Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role is preferred. Strong knowledge of Arizona labor and payroll tax laws and federal payroll regulations is preferred. Experience with union payroll and interpreting collective bargaining agreements is preferred. Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Workforce, SAP Employee Central Payroll) and timekeeping platforms is preferred. SAP experience is highly preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Advanced Excel skills is preferred. Excellent organizational and communication skills, and keen attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to organize a diverse workload, work independently, and complete work accurately and within deadlines. Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods. A degree with a specialization in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or relevant field is preferred. Functional Payroll Certification (FPC) from American Payroll Association or equivalent from global payroll associations or prior demonstrated certification is preferred.
Experience
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience required.
Education
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
