Travel RN Job Details

Location : Winston-Salem, NC 27157 (North Carolina travel nursing jobs)

Facility : Comprehensive Cancer Center – 40 bed Med / Surg Oncology unit

Shift : 12 hour day shifts (6 : 30am – 7 : 00pm), 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1470 - $1570

Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend

Holiday Coverage : Travelers work 75% of holidays

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg or Telemetry RN experience (Oncology nursing experience preferred)

ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certifications preferred

Proficiency in port access, blood product administration, electrolyte management, end-of-life care, pain and symptom management, PIV starts, and cardiac rhythm interpretation

Epic EMR experience preferred

Travel RN Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to hematology and oncology patients, including those with leukemia and those requiring comfort or end-of-life care

Manage patient assignments with a typical RN ratio of 1 : 4-5, based on acuity

Interpret cardiac rhythms and verify telemetry strips each shift

Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV / VAT teams, and hospitalists to optimize patient outcomes

Float within the cancer center and to other med-surg units as needed (emergency only)

Utilize Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors

Contribute to a supportive unit culture focused on teamwork, clinical excellence, and professional growth
