Position Summary
As the Technical Program Application Engineer with the Commercial Enterprise team, you will report to the Technical Program Manager and work closely with the commercial and engineering teams.
In this role, you will serve as the key technical review and product point person, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clean orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer plans and specs for use in the RFQ and Order Entry stages, raising any discrepancies with customers through RFI process.
- Review and redline drawings, suggesting solutions or alternate designs where applicable, to ensure alignment with customer specifications and electrical regulatory body standards.
- Respond to external RFIs in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
- Provide detailed scope of customer change requests, submit change notices and follow-up to completion and / or escape if changes may impact beyond a specific deployment.
- Support post-delivery RFIs through customer / IEM Procore with timely responses and coordinate internal intercept plans where needed.
- Create customer specific content for technical manuals and documentation, provide revisions for new design iterations.
- Provide detailed responses to customers' design engineering submittal feedback in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
- Proactively interact with clients, vendors and internal teams (sales, field service, commercial, project managers, internal engineering, etc.) to gather information, and resolve issues.
- Communicate effectively with internal partners and customers, industry contacts (where required), in a timely and professional manner. Ensure all affected departments are well informed and provided with timely updates to open projects / concerns.
- Provide regular progress reports on assignments, identifying areas of improvement and / or successes.
- Occasional travel is required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.Minimum of 2 years' experience with the application of electrical distribution products and systems.Knowledge and experience in evaluating complex single line diagrams (SLDs) and communication network diagrams, including media and protocols.Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical product specifications and applications.Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and CSA standards for low-voltage power distribution equipment.Proficient in both written and spoken English.Excellent communication and employee relations skills.Enthusiasm for learning and growth; proactively identifies opportunities and takes initiative to resolve issues.A problem-solving mindset and the ability to approach challenges constructively.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables and perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Proficiency with MS Office 365, Adobe / Bluebeam, AutoCAD, business intelligence software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and ERP systems (experience with Infor is considered an asset).Benefits
