About the Role
The Company is seeking an Inaugural Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join its executive leadership team. The CMO will be responsible for overseeing and advancing all aspects of quality and patient safety, as well as care delivery capabilities. This role involves collaborating with other leaders to improve operational processes, enhance the patient and provider experience, and ensure the highest quality and efficiency of patient care. The CMO will also be the primary liaison between administration and hospital staff, with a focus on maintaining a strong, collaborative relationship. Additionally, the CMO will be involved in medical staff affairs, including privileging, credentialing, peer review, and provider performance, and will support physician recruitment, retention, and engagement.
The ideal candidate for the CMO position at the company will have a minimum of 10-15 years' of experience as a clinical physician, with at least 5-10 years' in physician leadership, particularly in the areas of quality and safety. A medical degree (MD, DO, MD / PhD) and board certification in pediatrics or a pediatric sub-specialty are required. The CMO should possess strong leadership, management, and communication skills, and have a proven track record of working effectively with a diverse range of constituents. Experience in quality improvement methodologies, as well as a background in behavioral and organizational change, is essential. The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader, capable of driving clinical quality and leading the organization through growth, change, and expansion.
