Position Summary
The VP of Sales develops, directs and is responsible for the overall sales strategies of the company in alignment with the overall corporate goals of the organization. This position reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and has primary responsibility for driving sales and margin growth, expanding sales capabilities, levels of service, and product expertise. In addition, the VP of Sales will develop talent within the sales and marketing teams, analyze and evaluate strategies, costs, and results, review and improve internal systems and processes related to customer account management, and implement well‑developed strategies through all available sales channels. This position is also responsible for significant contribution in the management and execution of corporate strategy, growth plans, vision and future evolution of the organization. Success in this position requires the ability to continuously evaluate and adapt to changing market opportunities, conditions and current trends and execute on plans and policies to achieve corporate goals. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of achieving results, providing vision, setting direction, and implementing high B2B revenue growth and be an inspiring leader that can assist in developing a team and culture that is consistent with the corporate brand.
Principal Responsibilities
- Responsible for all sales functions of the company
- Lead by example - Ability and willingness to participate in all aspects of sales process and with proven ability to call on accounts and close deals
- Interacts regularly with existing and potential company customers, partners, and vendors as well as government and regulatory agencies and other market participants / stakeholders
- Manage, lead and direct all aspects of a fully functional, efficient and effective sales team, including but not limited to the recruitment, management, skill set development, coaching and sales results of each individual within the team
- Develops and maintains close partnerships with key / large customers
- Develops annual business plan and sales strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability and provides sales forecasts and targets across all product lines and market segments
- Coordinate sales effort by establishing sales quotas, commission package and goals in conjunction with other senior management personnel
- Establish sales plans and strategies to expand the company’s national customer base and market share
- Insure that all sales personnel meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes
- Actively oversee and manage company’s CRM solution to track entire sales pipeline results and provide timely feedback regarding performance
- Partner with the Marketing team to strategically build sales campaigns to maximize sales results
- Works closely with Business Development department on strategic alliances, initiatives and new projects
- Travel regionally and nationally for client meetings and presentations and industry conferences as necessary
Qualifications And Requirements
