Elevator Technician & Apprentice Technician

Openings in St louis, Mo. Rogers Arkansas, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Olathe KS & Brighton, Mo.

Job description :

Installation, Service, Inspections & Planned Maintenance of Residential Elevators, Wheelchair lifts & Stair Lifts. Light Commercial Elevators LULA & Vertical Platform lifts.

Loading Trucks and unloading at jobs sites. Driving the trucks and pulling trailers to the jobsites safely and properly securing loads.

Working from ladders, scaffolds and on harness to safely install 2 stop to 5 stop residential elevators. Mechanical assembly of systems in a hoistway, Electrical wire pulling and low voltage wiring of locks and call stations.

Building wood cabs in the hoistway and completing customer turn over of operational units. Demonstrating how the unit works and the safety features of the system.

Learning how to Troubleshoot system issues and use Programming tools to diagnose faults. Assisting with MCP plans and writing up maintenance plans for equipment.

Using a Service system to track hours and schedule and customer documents.

Required Skills :

After hours study required to complete AET / CET Program

Communication with staff and customers

Electronic scheduling system use from tablet or phones.

Read installation manual and install per drawings and specification.

Use a VOM.

Use a Tape measure with fractions and add them and subtract them.

Verifying Plumb and Square

Climb ladders and always use correct PPE

Work on harness all the time

Read Blueprints

Read Electrical Wiring diagrams and know where to check Volt and Ohms

Load & secure crates and equipment on a trailer and haul it to jobsites without losing the load or interacting with other vehicles on the Roadway.

Courteous driving

Proper use and identification of hand tools and power tools

Reading Code and interpreting it to the installations you do daily.

Consistently install the same product in within the allotted time.

Drill holes and use Impact to securely install equipment.

Run conduit per NEC code.

Training Opportunity :

All apprentices will be enrolled in the CET Program after they show up for 60 days and prove they are capable of doing the work required.

Requires Nights and Weekends study and review to be able to pass tests.

The CET Educational system is a Nationally recognized and ANSI Certified Training Program. The takes 4 years to complete.

It is a Self-paced program so the course work can be done quicker, but the OJT hours must match the 4 years of work to complete the course.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate to qualify.

If you are not interested in doing your own study time, you will not be successful at completing the course.

OSHA 30 will be required in your first 90 days of employment. We pay for the Course. You take the class on your time.

Some of your training will be on the road at Other Regions of our market.

Some of your training will be at Manufacturers locations across the US and Canada

We will pay you 40 hours while away at Manufacturer’s training, hotels and meals.

Our Investment in your training will be in excess of a $10,000 per year Technical Training course.

You are not Locked into a Student Load payback plan. We just want you to work for CHE and be of the value that we invested.

Certifications :

Once you Complete the CET 2 Year Exam you will get an Associates Elevator Technician Certificate AET

Upon Completion of 4 years CET Exam you will be a Full Certified Elevator Technician -CET

There are State elevator Mechanic License available at 2 years, 3 years and 4 years in different States. Our Goal is to assist you in getting those Licenses.

To then use them as a Mechanic for Country Home Elevator.

PAY :

Starting at $24-26 / hr

Year 1 CET Completion $26-28

Year 2 CET / AET Completion $29-31

Year 3 CET Completion $32-34

Year 4 CET Completion $35-39

These are not caps and we reward accelerated progress with raises sooner, if the candidate reached goals faster.

Expectations for completion :

You will be able to troubleshoot and diagnosis any Elevator system we install and service and have the knowledge and Certification to learn any type elevator system.
