This position will work with West Fraser team members to develop a world-class EH&S culture, ensuring environmental compliance and eliminating workplace injuries.
What you will do :
Work directly with Operations and Maintenance personnel on the manufacturing floor to drive EHS process and practice improvements.Work with leadership team to accomplish established goals and objectivesPerform workplace environmental, health and safety inspections and audits.Facilitate and oversee incident investigations to determine root cause(s) and provide recommendations for corrective actions.Responsible for stewarding EHS programs at the division and maintaining all pertinent records.Ensure implementation and continuous improvement to all safety related programs and policies including, but not limited to : Hazardous Energy Control Program, Chemical Management, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Mobile Equipment Safety, Respiratory Protection and Emergency Action Plan.Ensure implementation and continuous improvement to all environmental related programs and policies including, but not limited to : Air Permitting, Water Permitting, Wastewater, Waste Disposal, Oil / Chemical Storage and Spills and Stormwater management.Steward West Fraser contractor safety program.Demonstrate strong cross-functional leadership and teamwork skills with proven ability to set a vision.Work with all levels of staff to ensure environmental, health and safety programs and policies are understood and upheld as a priority and value.Analyze complex information and trends to make decisions regarding EHS performance and appropriate corrective / improvement actions.Ensure controls and metrics are in place and sustained to monitor the progress of the division's environmental, health and safety initiatives.Prepare written reports for division site inspections with recommendations for corrective and preventive measures while ensuring actions are completed.Conduct and / or organize environmental monitoring, recordkeeping and reportingSteward functioning of the site Safety Committee and support subsequent follow-up actions.Minimum qualifications you will need :
EHS experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access, Word, etc.)Solid understanding of facilitating a successful EHS programAbility to present and train team membersMust be proactive, enthusiastic, and demonstrate effective leadership skillsProven ability to build and maintain strong teamsPossess exceptional communication and interpersonal skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced computer skills including MS Office softwareOutstanding benefits package including :
