Job Title : Modeling and Simulation Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled leader to join our cutting-edge missile defense development team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced models and simulations supporting target detection, tracking, guidance, and engagement. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and defense experts to deliver mission-critical solutions that ensure national security. The modeling and simulation lead will manage all internal and sub-contracted activities associated with Integrated Flight Simulations and Missile Flyout Simulations, including managing software, hardware, and integrated data environment requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS), which is an all-digital system performance simulation, and a Missile Flyout Simulation (MFS), which simulates real-time flyouts for testing with the tactical system in lab and field environments.
- Develop and deliver an MFS user manual that provides detailed instructions for installation and execution of simulation, along with explanation of the inputs and outputs.
- Responsible for Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Contract Deliverables (CDRLs), including interpretation of delivery needs from CDRL requirements and Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), which may include working with suppliers to develop their content to support.
- Interface with systems engineers, algorithm developers, and hardware teams to integrate and validate end-to-end system functionality.
- Lead software architecture and technical design decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Support testing activities, including simulation, modeling, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), and live-fire scenarios.
- Ensure software meets Department of Defense (DoD) standards for cybersecurity, anti-tamper, safety, and quality.
- Author and maintain technical documentation in support of program reviews and compliance requirements.
- Support program working groups and other customer program milestones.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
Master’s degree plus 5 years’ experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus 10 years’ experience in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.Experience in systems engineering, missile defense, embedded systems, modeling and simulation, and validation.Experience in flight and guidance controls, and simulation tools, including 6DOF, for interception systems from the detection stage to the impact.Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and servers.Experience integrating with tactical or simulated equipment such as a Weapons Interface Units, to receive launch commands and in-flight updates.Experience with real-time systems, embedded software, or multi-threaded applications.Deep understanding of software development life cycles, configuration management, and testing methodologies.Experience working in Agile and DevSecOps environments.Familiarity with MIL-STD software and hardware integration practices.Willing and able to travel internationally for technology transfer.Active clearance or . Citizenship with the ability to obtain clearance.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with missile defense systems (., Indirect Fires Protection Capability, Integrated Battle Command System, Battle Management Command System, Iron Dome Defense).Experience with radar systems, sensor fusion, or fire control algorithms.Experience with simulation frameworks such as STK, MATLAB, or custom missile defense applications.Experience developing CDRLs and formal reports for the . DoD.Desired skills include familiarity with Weapon Open Systems Architecture (WOSA), Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) architecture, and Cybersecurity Analysis (CSA).Experience with IDL, XML, or API Apps is a plus.Work Environment
The position is ideally based in HSV, with the facility expected to be established there in the future. However, the role will primarily be remote with VPN access as needed. The candidate must be willing to travel to Israel three times within the first six months and be on-site in HSV twice.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00 / hr.
