Network Engineer, Consultant

Overview

Strong hands-on experience with Cisco switch configuration, wireless LAN, network IP addressing, and first-hand config build and verification. This is a local to Los Angeles (hybrid schedule) contract opportunity.

Salary : $55 - $75 per hour. This contract is local to LA / OC areas with long-term potential.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and analyzes the availability and performance of the network, ensuring it is maintained to high standards
• Recommends and implements solutions for network systems including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless, and other network services
• Resolves complex network problems; serves as escalation resource for junior engineers and other teams; escalates to senior engineers and / or vendors as needed
• Participates in incident management, asset management, change management, project management, and root cause analysis documentation and remediation
• Documents technical details of the network environment and related systems and services
• Coordinates with clients and vendors to foster a satisfactory customer service relationship
• Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support
• Trains and mentors new team members
