Hellbender is a Mexican-American restaurant in the heart of Ridgewood Queens, NY.

Our focus is on creative cooking inspired by traditional Mexican dishes with local and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Freshness, quality, and deliciousness are our top priority. You'll find old world techniques mixed with modern ones to create our idea of the best versions of classic and new dishes. Line Cooks prepare a majority of the food they serve so there is real cooking experience. We believe in education as a large part of cooking and investing in our team is part of that education. In order to support the idea of line cooks preparing the food that they fire during service, we run a 4 day work week.
