Job Description
The Mechanical Technician provides installation, maintenance, and repair for automation systems. This role focuses on conveyors, carton erectors, sealers, weigh systems, and robotic modules to ensure smooth physical operation. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on mechanical experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment supporting high-performance fulfillment automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, align, and maintain conveyors, carton erectors, sealers, robotic modules, and automated machinery.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on belts, rollers, actuators, bearings, and related mechanical components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and replace worn or faulty parts to maximize uptime.
- Collaborate with controls and electrical teams to support integration of mechanical and automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including lockout / tagout procedures, while working on equipment.
- Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment at customer sites.
- Provide feedback on recurring issues and recommend improvements to enhance equipment performance.
Qualifications
3-5 years of mechanical maintenance or installation experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or automation environment.Strong knowledge of conveyors, mechanical assemblies, and automated equipment.Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication techniques.Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Willingness to travel for field installation and service work as needed.
