Overview
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an experienced CMM Operator to support a growing aerospace manufacturing operation in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in metrology programming and inspection, with strong experience using CALYPSO, PC-DMIS, or Metrologic software. Key Responsibilities
- Program and operate CMMs using CALYPSO, PC-DMIS, or Metrologic software to develop precise measurement routines.
- Develop and implement aircraft inspection plans, integrating CMMs, laser trackers, and other advanced inspection tools.
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to generate comprehensive inspection programs.
- Perform detailed part and assembly inspections to verify design tolerance and specification compliance.
- Record, analyze, and maintain inspection data to support statistical process control and traceability.
- Conduct regular CMM maintenance and calibration to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CMM-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain full compliance with company quality management systems (QMS) and documentation standards.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 7+ years of experience in metrology and CMM programming (CALYPSO, PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, or Metrologic).Proficient in GD&T interpretation and complex engineering drawing analysis.Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and generating inspection reports.Strong understanding of inspection error identification and corrective action processes.Experience with MES systems and creating electronic inspection plans.Background in aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Experience creating real-time dashboards using Sigma.Familiarity with developing or validating automated inspection systems.JSG offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, short-term disability, 401(k), weekly pay, and more.
