Desktop Support Technician

The candidate will be providing onsite support daily to users, as well as remote desktop support to users working remotely. The position is a 3 month contract with the possibility to extend. The customer environment is 50% Windows 10 and 50% MAC OSX. The role includes supporting hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, peripherals), software issues (OS, email, MS Office Suite including O365, AV, collaboration tools), basic Active Directory tasks (password resets, application access), application and network connectivity issues (VPN), and basic network closet knowledge for backup support. Desktop patches should be applied as part of the responsibilities. ServiceNow is used for ticket management and asset tracking.

Responsibilities

• Issues Management and Resolution : Analyze issues and formulate solutions; troubleshoot system, application and hardware issues; keep customers updated on ticket progress; work directly with customers to solve problems; utilize internal IT Knowledge Base; research issues using external information; update ticket tracking system with status and fixes; escalate issues as required.
• System Administration : Perform routine system maintenance on laptops and desktops; track computer assets; perform backups and restores; configure hardware (drives, network interfaces, memory, processors, peripherals); install and configure software including operating systems, patches, and third?party products; maintain established computer standards and participate in testing new standards.
