Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time teaching opportunity is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for the 2025-2026 school year in Tucson, AZ, supporting K-12 students. This itinerant contract position focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students across multiple district sites.
Responsibilities include conducting in-person evaluations, Functional Vision assessments, and initial evaluations to identify student needs. The teacher will provide direct instruction aligned with individual IEP goals, assistive technology integration, and collaborate closely with school teams to ensure prehensive student support. Scheduling and facilitating meetings, pleting detailed evaluation reports, IEP documentation, and monitoring student progress are critical ponents of this role. Given the itinerant nature of the position, reliable transportation is essential to travel among various district locations.
