Senior Commercial Project Manager (Commercial Construction, Primarily 500kW-25MW Solar Projects)

This Senior Commercial Project Manager is responsible for effectively managing the planning, progress, and developmental activities during the design and post-contracting phase for complex projects. This position establishes realistic project schedules and major milestones, and ensures responsible parties are completing their tasks as per the associated project schedule, verifies all tasks necessary to move from one stage to another are complete and accurate, coordinates with our procurement manager and any subcontractors to provide materials and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining oversight of the dedicated installation crews throughout each project mobilization. This individual will also be responsible for communicating project status to the organization and any necessary changes to the installation plans throughout each project. This position is responsible for overseeing many "moving pieces" within our largest projects and will require managing multiple projects at the same time. The Senior Commercial Project Manager will directly and indirectly manage field personnel, other contracted partners, and All Energy Solar's Commercial Project Managers.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Create and manage the project schedule using critical path theory for all associated projects in support of system development, engineering, procurement, construction, and through activation and final project close-out; which include, but are not limited to :
- Oversee Project Subcontractor and Supplier Relationships
- Avoid "downtime" and schedule for optimal efficiency while meeting customers' requirements.
- Manage the subcontracting process for all subcontracted scopes, including scope development, subcontractor qualification, contract negotiation, document review, and subcontractor performance.
- Comprehend and manage the Company's and Customers' contractual obligations.
- Prepare and execute pay applications and change orders.
- Periodically visit project sites to assist with supervision (as needed) and to maintain familiarity with our people, processes, and materials.
- Develop and maintain reports within and external to ERP.
- As required, communicate and coordinate with internal and external contacts for obtaining permits, licenses, approvals, inspections, etc.
- Oversee Commercial Project Budgets and Materials
- Participate in project estimating and design to ensure optimal profitability, materials availability, and installation efficiency.
- Prepare project budget review documents for internal and external review.
- In conjunction with the Purchasing and Engineering teams (where needed), research and obtain sources of non-standard products required for custom projects.
- Work directly with the Warehouse and Procurement teams to assure effective coordination of material and equipment arrival for all projects.
- Manage and Lead Projects & Internal / External Staff
- Manage, develop and train the Commercial Project Management team to build depth and breadth in the group.
- Assign projects to the Project Managers based upon skill level and capacities, and continually manage to maintain suitable workloads.
- Oversee progress of all projects to ensure a high level of Customer Experience is provided by all.
- Interview and hire project support roles including site supervisors, and project assistants / coordinators in partnership with the Director of Commercial Operations.
- Serve as backup to Director of Commercial Operations in their absence.
- Liaise with the Sales team regarding schedule performance, constraints, order changes, and Customer Relationships.

Experience
5+ years of proven commercial project management in solar and renewable energy (required).OSHA 10 certification (required).OSHA 30 certification (required within 30 days of employment if not current).Project Management certification (required within 18 months of employment if not current).Knowledge and experience in construction (preferred).Successful leadership of teams.Technical Proficiency
Proficiency with Google Suite (Google Drive, Gmail), Salesforce, NetSuite, or similar tools and technology (preferred).Proficient using CRM software, such as Salesforce and NetSuite (preferred).Knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage, and permitting (required).Understanding of electrical codes and building standards (required).Core Skills
