Performs inspection and quality assurance / control for all aspects of wastewater rehab and construction, along with coordinates and inspects contractor plumber work

- Performs quality assurance / control for wastewater main replacement and new installation work performed by approved contractors.
- Performs quality assurance / control for wastewater rehab projects performed by approved contractors.
- Observes, records and documents installation of service lines, mains and manholes.
- Performs CCTV inspections on service lines for customers and plumbers.
- Coordinates with Decatur Building Department to inspect and test new / rehabilitated wastewater services.
- Communicates with customers and resolves problems.
- Reads and interprets maps, blueprints and drawings.
- Uses computer for map reading, GIS, data entry and collection.
- Notifies Public Works Department of street cuts.
- Performs locates for contractor.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
High School diploma or GED2-4 years additional relevant work-related experience and / or training.Knowledgeable in wastewater installation and maintenance work processes in order to plan work efficiently.Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel) as required to perform job tasks.Ability to perform and / or solve routine mathematical calculations and problems.Ability to perform these concepts using basic high school mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, ratios, percentages, time, distance and weight measurement.Decatur Utilities provides electricity, natural gas, water and wastewater services in the greater Decatur, Alabama area to more than 30,000 customers.
