Internship Opportunity at Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines interns join teams throughout different departments and work on visible projects that impact our guests and business. Interns get the opportunity to network with fellow employees and company leaders through various intern events and programming. Interns also receive unlimited standby travel benefits during their internship. This internship is for summer 2026. Our internships are full-time for 12 weeks, and we offer two program timelines to align with different academic calendars. This internship will be located in SeaTac, WA. If not already in the internship city, candidates will be required to relocate for the duration of the internship.

Key Duties

• Evaluate operationally focused sourcing categories for inclusion in cross-divisional Supplier Performance Management program development.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and Suppliers in the creation of language, documentation, and presentations to support Supplier buy-in for future Performance Management program.
• Conduct interviews with sourcing managers, Financial Planning & Analysis, and business owners to identify key performance metrics and pain points based on supplier profiles.
• Review contract terms, Service Level Agreements (SLA), and supplier history using internal documents and systems to collect data.
• Build (or work with SCM Analytics team) to prototype in Tableau, Excel or Power BI a Dashboard to visualize supplier performance vs. SLA, risk indicators (e.g., delays, cost escalations), and supplier scoring.
• Share findings with leadership through presentations and propose recommended next steps for broader rollout.
• Utilize Tableau, Power BI or Excel to perform analytics and develop performance metrics.
