ROLE of the POSITION
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ Business Affairs division is seeking a communication specialist with excellent writing and interpersonal skills, experience in developing communication plans, and a solid understanding of how to maximize web communication to lead content development for division initiatives.
Responsibilities include :
Writing articles for and distributing two divisional newsletters
Revising and developing new content for departmental webpages
Leading divisional accessibility strategy which includes providing guidance on document remediation and overseeing the accessibility ambassador program
Developing communication plans to effectively support divisional initiatives
Supporting CFO’s priorities including, but not limited to :
Divisional service standards
Employee recognition program
All-staff meetings
Digital signage content
Building relationships with divisional and campus stakeholders
Distilling complex processes and information into approachable language for end-users
Drafting and editing ad hoc messaging as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and / or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree preferred
