Responsibilities
CAAs and CRNAs are highly skilled health professionals working under the supervision of licensed anesthesiologists to implement anesthesia care plans. They work within the anesthesia care team environment as defined by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). All anesthetists possess a premedical background, a baccalaureate degree, and have completed comprehensive didactic and clinical training at the graduate level. They are extensively trained in delivering and maintaining quality anesthesia care and advanced patient monitoring techniques. The goal of anesthetist education is to develop qualified students into competent healthcare practitioners who aspire to practice within the anesthesia care team.
Qualifications
Certified Anesthesia Assistant
Holds current active state licensure as an Anesthesiologist Assistant in Georgia and complies with all applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements.Graduated with a Master’s degree in Anesthesia.Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for limits required by this institution or state.Demonstrates current competency in clinical responsibilities.Capable of performing clinically as an anesthetist regularly in the facility setting.Proficient in operating, interpreting data from, and utilizing a wide variety of equipment to provide anesthesia and perioperative care, ensuring patient safety and well-being during direct care.Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clinical staff and other disciplines.Knowledgeable about providing care appropriate to the patient population served.Understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan and ability to assess data relevant to patient-specific and age-specific needs.Knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques.Capable of maintaining confidential records.Able to implement and adhere to facility policies and procedures.Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Holds current active state licensure as a registered nurse in Georgia and complies with all applicable regulations.Graduated from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program.Certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for limits required by this institution or state.Demonstrates current competency in clinical responsibilities.Capable of performing clinically as a nurse anesthetist regularly in the facility setting.Proficient in operating, interpreting data from, and utilizing a wide variety of equipment to provide anesthesia and perioperative care, ensuring patient safety and well-being during direct care.Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clinical staff and other disciplines.Knowledgeable about providing care appropriate to the patient population served.Understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan and ability to assess data relevant to patient-specific and age-specific needs.Knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques.Capable of maintaining confidential records.Able to implement and adhere to facility policies and procedures.Work Hours : Varies
