The Sheet Metal Apprentice will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ductwork, plenums, air devices, louvers, and air-moving equipment. Responsibilities :
- Set up and operate fabricating machines (shears, brakes, bending rolls, punch and drill presses).
- Cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
- Assemble ductwork using spot welders, power tools, air hammers, and hand tools.
- Install ductwork and sheet metal assemblies on-site per blueprints and specifications.
- Install air-moving equipment (air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, unit heaters).
- Inspect and test installations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Requirements :
Minimum 1 year of experience in sheet metal work within the mechanical / HVAC industry.Proficient in basic math and blueprint reading.Skilled in working with tools, metals, and machines.Ability to :Visualize 3D objects from drawings or blueprints.
