Tessera is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICS / EMCS / HVAC Controls Lead to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of integrated control systems (ICS), energy management control systems (EMCS), and HVAC automation across USAFA facilities. This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of mission-critical building systems through expert-level technical oversight, coordination, and mentorship.
Typical duties include but are not limited to :
Lead installation, programming, and commissioning of HVAC control systems, including ICS and EMCS platformsDiagnose and resolve complex control system issues, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiencyMonitor and fine-tune system operations to support sustainability and mission readinessCoordinate with engineers and technicians on upgrades, retrofits, and compliance with military standardsMaintain detailed documentation of system configurations, service activities, and performance metricsProvide technical leadership, training, and oversight to junior staff and support emergency system continuityQualifications :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC controls, EMCS, or building automation systemsAssociate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, building automation, or a related field preferredTechnical certifications in HVAC controls, building automation systems (BAS), or EMCS highly desirableProficiency in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controlsExperience with direct digital controls (DDC), PLC programming, SCADA systems, and automation protocols such as BACnet and ModbusAbility to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manualsStrong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and low-voltage electronicsEffective problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyPhysical Requirements :
