Health & Safety Manager

The Health & Safety Manager position is primarily office-based with approximately 70% of the time spent in the office and 30% in the field. The role involves overseeing safety protocols, compliance, and employee safety training.

Responsibilities :

• Walk job sites to evaluate safety protocols and actions.
• Conduct incident investigations and prepare reports.
• Identify potential safety risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Ensure OSHA compliance, including forms, training, and submissions.
• Maintain EEO and EPA compliance, focusing on air quality.
• Manage MSHA compliance, including forms, training, and submissions.
• Set up, maintain, and train on health and safety programs.
• Follow up on accident and incident reports.
• Investigate accident / utility strikes and manage litigation.
• Track employee certifications.
• Administer drug testing.
• Develop project-specific safety plans.
• Act as the Safety Council Representative.
• Conduct training and onboarding for new and current employees.
• Manage the confined space training program.
• Present safety initiatives to a team of approximately 40 field workers.

Work Environment :

The position is primarily office-based, with 70% of the work conducted in the office and 30% in the field. The company maintains a family-owned feel, providing a close-knit and supportive environment. The standard work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling close to 40 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $43.27 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
