Controller
This position involves financial oversight and expense monitoring, ensuring budget compliance and cost efficiency while supporting EBIT improvement plans. Responsibilities include monitoring administrative and overhead expenses to ensure budget compliance and cost efficiency, analyzing spending trends, identifying areas for savings, and proposing actionable cost-reduction initiatives. Provide monthly variance analysis and performance reports to management, highlighting key insights. Partner with operations to track profitability by business unit. Design, document, and oversee the implementation of new financial and operational procedures (SOPs). Monitor adherence to established procedures and ensure corrective actions where needed. Strengthen internal controls across accounting and operational workflows. Coordinate with auditors to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and company policies. Support automation and system improvements in collaboration with IT and BI teams. Streamline workflows between Finance, Operations, and Shared Services.
Essential Skills include proficiency in accounting and financial analysis, expertise in reconciliation, general ledger, financial modeling, and financial reporting. A solid understanding of US GAAP / IFRS and corporate budgeting principles is required. Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives focused on cost reduction and efficiency. Experience with ERP and BI tools (CargoWise One, Great Plains, TruckMate, Power BI, etc.) is necessary. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
Additional Skills & Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred. Eight or more years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with strong exposure to cost control and process optimization, is required.
The role is based onsite at the corporate office. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL. The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $39.00 / hr.
