Position Summary
The Tax Consultant will gain experience and assist team members in performing Transaction Tax overpayment reviews, audit reviews, filing refund claims with taxing jurisdictions, and performing additional tax consulting services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in review preparation, including data reconciliation to trial balance reports, tax reconciliation and other data analysisGather essential documentation to support reviewsObtains source documentation from clients' systemReview client documents relating to sales / use taxes including invoices, purchase orders, sales / use tax returns and details, sales / use tax audits, etc.Creates schedules of invoices and / or other documentsResearches and enters data regarding tax exemptions into the systemResearch sales / use tax questions and issuesContact vendors as necessary for refund follow-upAssist in the compilation of client reports, refund claims, and client trainingTravel to client locations as neededNon-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support to Sr. Tax Consultants, Tax Managers, and DirectorsPerform other duties as assignedEducation and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field1-3 years professional experience preferably in transaction tax auditsIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelExperience researching tax questions and issues preferredDemonstrated problem solving, verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levelsValid driver's licenseTravel as required (approximately 5%)Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
