For more information, please visit is a 9-month tenure-track faculty position with reduced course load to allow for scholarly work. Primary duties will include teaching courses. An initial teaching load of six credit hours per semester (two courses), reflecting our strong emphasis on research. Faculty benefit from access to robust research resources—including WRDS, Bloomberg, CRSP, and DataStream—as well as PhD student assistance. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate and sustain a commitment to teaching excellence, publish in reputable, discipline-based peer-reviewed journals, and meet university expectations aligned with our institutional vision and AACSB accreditation. Duties also include service to the department, college, and university. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

The AACSB-accredited Sanchez School offers a PhD in International Business Administration and is home to The International Trade Journal, indexed in Web of Science. To further advance impactful scholarship, faculty are encouraged to collaborate with any of our four Centers of Academic Excellence.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a PhD/DBA in Marketing or a closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in Marketing from an AACSB-accredited school. ABDs can also be considered if they are in a position to complete their degree before the start date. We strongly encourage candidates with whose research focuses on international business—particularly those who can leverage Laredo, Texas’s status as the #1 port in the Americas and its vibrant ecosystem of transportation, logistics, customs, technology-driven, and trade-related organizations.
