Position Summary

The Maintenance Engineer will partner with the Chief Engineer and Property Manager in the planning,

coordination, and performance of required duties for all mechanical operations, maintenance, and

energy management programs, to meet MBB quality standards and ownership operating objectives for a

building.

Position Responsibilities

Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems (must be familiar with Cooling Towers and Split

Systems) electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems. Perform building interior / exterior

repairs, and related grounds as it pertains to assigned buildings.

Perform all ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs. Respond to Work Orders on building

mechanical, electrical and other installed systems, equipment, and other components.

Perform assigned building inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on found conditions

impacting satisfactory operations.

  • Work with your team to respond effectively to all emergencies. On Call 24 / 7.
  • Assist with preparation and submittal of Management Summary Reports listing conditions found in

the performance of assigned work, and recommend and / or suggest actions to be taken. Requires

knowledge of Building Automation Systems, Fire / Life Safety Systems, and other building related

equipment.

  • Secure estimates from Vendors for repairs and capital improvement projects.
  • Assist Chief Engineer and Property Manager in acquiring estimates for Annual Budget

preparations.

Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.

Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.

  • Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Must be willing and able to support any afterhours building related activity as

required.

Experience & Education

Minimum of 3 years of Commercial Engineering experience within the last five years of employment in

a Building Engineering role.

  • HVAC Certification a plus.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have the ability to respond to after hour calls or emails.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to establish strong interpersonal relationships with team members, tenants, contractors

and vendors.

  • Must be self-directed, pro-active.
  • Must be reliable.
  • Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize work and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to change within the organization and the needs of the client.
